Nursery Room Leader (Senior)

Location: Raised in Bristol – Felix Road Adventure Playground, Easton, BS5

Salary: £29,848 per annum

Hours: Full Time: 40hrs

Job Overview

We’re looking for an experienced and inspiring Nursery Room Leader to step into a Senior role, acting as third in charge and supporting both the Nursery Manager and Deputy Manager. This is a brilliant opportunity for someone ready to take the next step in their Early Years career. If you're a qualified Early Years Practitioner, Educator or Teacher who brings energy, warmth and leadership to your work, we’d love to hear from you.

About Raised In Bristol

Raised In Bristol is a not-for-personal-profit social enterprise with a clear mission: to provide the very best early years education while investing in the communities we serve. We love what we do and we’re committed to helping the youngest children reach their full potential in friendly, nurturing, and engaging home‑from‑home environments.

Our nursery offers a more relaxed feel than larger settings, with just 62 places. It’s housed in a beautiful timber‑framed building overlooking the much‑loved Felix Road Adventure Playground. The nursery has a warm, homely atmosphere, and all rooms enjoy free‑flow access to the garden space, perfect for outdoor play and exploration.

Responsibilities
  • Act as third in charge and support the Nursery Manager and Deputy Manager.
  • Lead and mentor the nursery team to ensure a high quality child‑led learning environment.
  • Support the management team and help the wider team to thrive.
  • Contribute to creating a welcoming, inclusive, collaborative and supportive environment.
  • Ensure high standards for yourself, the team and the nursery.
  • Implement and review curriculum and development plans.
Qualifications

To apply for this role you’ll need a full and relevant Early Years qualification, such as:

  • NNEB NVQ Level 3+ Diploma (Childcare & Education)
  • BTEC (Childcare)
  • QTS Foundation Degree or BA Hons in Early Years Education or Child Development

Please note: The Level 3 Award in Early Years Education does not meet the DfE’s criteria for a “full and relevant” Level 3 qualification for staffing ratios in early years settings.

Benefits
  • Competitive pay and annual pay reviews.
  • Paid one hour lunch break.
  • 50% off for your child in our nurseries.
  • Enhanced maternity pay.
  • Employer pension.
  • ‘Refer a friend’ bonus for introducing new team members.
  • 28 days holiday (inc bank holidays, FTE).
  • Your Birthday off and an Annual Wellbeing Day (in addition to your annual leave).
  • Plus 3 extra days off between Christmas and New Year.
  • 24/7 access to a remote GP for you and your family.
  • Career progression and training opportunities.
Key Behaviours
  • Contribute to creating a welcoming, inclusive, collaborative and supportive environment.
  • Children’s needs at the forefront of everything that you do.
  • Positive mindset, approaching tasks with a can‑do‑attitude.
  • Strong work ethic, setting a good example for others and supporting your team.
  • Working in partnership positively with your team.
  • Initiating new initiatives and ways of doing things.
  • High standards for yourself, team and the nursery.
  • Reflective mindset, open to feedback and ongoing self‑improvement.
