Job summary

Bright Horizons Englefield Green Day Nursery and Preschool in Egham (TW20) invites applications for a Room Leader. This full-time role leads a toddler/preschool team, delivering high-quality care and learning in a setting rated Good by Ofsted.

You will mentor staff, safeguard children, and build strong partnerships with parents and colleagues, supporting every child to reach their milestones in a warm, inclusive environment on the Royal Holloway grounds with free onsite parking.

Qualifications

• Full and relevant Level 3 or above Early Years qualification.
• Experience in an Early Years setting, ideally as Room Leader or similar.
• Passion for creating fun and inclusive learning environments.
• Strong EYFS knowledge.
• Understanding of safeguarding and broader legislation for working with children.
• Ability to build trust with colleagues and parents.

Responsibilities

Salary – Starting from: £31,241.60 per annum (dependant on qualification/s and experience)

Hours - Full Time, 40 hours

Location – Egham, Surrey, TW20

We’re currently looking for a Room Leader to work in our Englefield Green Nursery. We require a Room Leader in our toddler and or preschool room. Our lovely 72-place setting is Ofsted rated 'Good' and features well-resourced rooms, each one with direct access to their large garden and outdoor play area which the children can enjoy in all weathers for outdoor learning. The nursery is situated on the grounds of the Royal Holloway University, with free onsite parking, shops within walking distance and a short drive from Egham town centre.

The Role

As a Room Leader, you will lead, mentor, support, and inspire a team to deliver exception care and education, to help all children within the room to develop and meet their individual milestones. You will promote and ensure child welfare, health and safety, and safeguarding, and maintain strong partnerships with colleagues, parents, and other professionals to meet each child’s needs.

What we’re looking for

• Full and relevant Level 3 or above Early Years qualification
• Previous experience working within an Early Years setting – ideally as a Room Leader, Nursery Nurse, Nursery Practitioner, Early Years Educator or similar
• Passion for creating fun and inclusive learning environments
• Strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
• Strong knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding, Child Protection, and the wider legislative requirements for working with children
• Ability to develop trust and strong working partnerships with both colleagues and parents/ carers
• Ability to use a variety of communication techniques with both children and adults
