Here at Zero2Five, we are proud to be recruiting a Room Leader on behalf of a high-quality nursery near Dorchester. The successful candidate must be able to take responsibility for implementing the welfare, learning, and development requirements for a group of children in a designated room within the nursery.
Experience and Knowledge needed
- Minimum Level 3 Early Years Qualification
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working with children
- Confident in safeguarding knowledge
- Strong focus on continuing professional development
- SEN knowledge and experience is desirable
- An enhanced disclosure confirming suitability to work with children
Key Responsibilities
- Take responsibility for the effective daily supervision of the designated room, in accordance with Sunny Day Nurseries’ policies, the EYFS Statutory Framework, and all relevant legislation.
- Implement policies and procedures to ensure welfare requirements of the EYFS are met.
- Plan appropriate experiences for children aligned with the nursery’s policies on care, learning, and play to meet EYFS learning and development requirements.
- Work with the manager and deputy manager to maintain standards, ratios, and registration conditions within the designated room.
- Implement the nursery’s key person system within the designated room.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding the welfare, learning, and development of children in the designated room.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and tidiness in the designated room and throughout the nursery.
- Support the deputy/manager in mentoring, coaching, training, and supervising staff according to their development needs.
- Undertake additional duties as agreed with the Nursery Manager/Deputy.
- Participate in performance reviews and professional development activities.
- Flexible working hours - individually negotiated.
- 28 days plus half a day per year worked holiday, including Bank Holidays, increasing to 30 days after each full year at April.
