Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking passionate Nursery Practitioners to work across Dorset in various nurseries and early years settings. If you want flexible supply work, you can choose from regular days or additional hours to fit your commitments.

You’ll support children from babies to preschool, helping create a safe, engaging and nurturing environment where learning thrives and development is observed and documented.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in nursery/early years settings.
  • Level 2 or Level 3 EY qualification desirable.
  • Understanding of the EYFS.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Caring, patient and positive approach.

Responsibilities

  • Support children's learning and development in line with the EYFS framework.
  • Plan and deliver age-appropriate activities.
  • Support children's personal, social and emotional development.
  • Encourage communication, language and physical development.
  • Help maintain a safe, stimulating and inclusive environment.
  • Support daily routines including meals, sleep times and personal care.
  • Build positive relationships with children, parents and colleagues.
  • Observe children's development and contribute to their learning journeys.
  • Follow safeguarding and health and safety procedures.
  • Adapt quickly to routines and expectations of different settings.

Nursery Practitioner - Flexible Supply Opportunities Across Dorset

Teaching Personnel are looking for passionate, caring and reliable Nursery Practitioners to join our team and work across a variety of nurseries and early years settings throughout Dorset.

Whether you're looking for regular work, additional hours around your current commitments or the flexibility of supply, we can offer a range of opportunities to suit your experience and availability.

About the Role

As a Supply Nursery Practitioner, you'll have the opportunity to work within different early years settings, supporting children from babies through to preschool age. You'll play an important role in creating a safe, engaging and nurturing environment where children can learn, develop and thrive.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Supporting children's learning and development in line with the EYFS framework
  • Planning and delivering fun, age-appropriate activities
  • Supporting children's personal, social and emotional development
  • Encouraging communication, language and physical development
  • Helping to maintain a safe, stimulating and inclusive environment

What We're Looking For

We're keen to hear from Nursery Practitioners who are enthusiastic about working with young children and can confidently adapt to different environments.

You will ideally have:

  • Previous experience working within a nursery or early years setting
  • A Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification (desirable)
  • A good understanding of the EYFS
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A caring, patient and positive approach
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Confidence supporting children's behaviour and individual needs
  • A reliable and flexible attitude
  • A genuine passion for helping children learn and develop
