Job summary

King's Lynn Nursery School is seeking an enthusiastic Nursery Practitioner to join our team. The role focuses on supporting play and development, particularly for pupils with special educational needs, in a nurturing setting.

This part-time, term-time-only position offers Scale C £13.26 per hour, 19.5 hours per week, and starts October 2026. DBS checks and safeguarding procedures apply.

You'll work with a skilled staff, uphold high standards, and be a reliable team player.

Qualifications

• An NVQ level 2.
• Experience of working with children in the Early Years Foundation Stage.
• Previous experience working with children with special educational needs is desirable but not essential.
• High expectations.
• Supportive and caring attitude.
• A ‘team player’ who can work following their own initiative.
• Flexible and willing to support others.

Responsibilities

• Support the play and development of children in the nursery, with a focus on SEN pupils.
• Assist group time, play activities, and outdoor provision.
• Support during whole-class story or dance sessions.
• Assist children with personal care as needed.
• Plan and deliver targeted interventions; keep records and assess attainment.
