We are currently recruiting for a Lunch Cover Nursery Nurse to be based at our Greenwich nursery. The nursery offers state-of-the-art facilities, combining bright and spacious indoor rooms along with fabulous outdoor areas. We are located close to the Cutty Sark and Greenwich station. North Greenwich Station is a short journey from the nursery.
You will be working 20 hours per week (Mon-Fri) from 11am to 3pm.
To be considered for the Nursery Nurse Lunch Cover role you must have:
Supervising Children During Lunch: Ensure that children are seated properly, encouraging good behavior and socializing, and making sure they eat their meals safely.
Assisting with Feeding: Help younger children with feeding, cutting up food, and encouraging them to try new foods or finish their meals.
Promoting Healthy Eating: Encourage good eating habits and teach children about nutritious food choices while maintaining a positive and supportive attitude towards mealtimes.
Ensuring Safety: Oversee children to prevent any accidents or choking hazards, ensuring the dining area is safe and clean.
Supporting Social Interaction: Encourage social interaction and positive behaviour during mealtime, promoting respectful conversations and shared experiences.
Cleaning and Tidying Up: Help clear tables and clean up after meals, making sure the dining area is ready for other activities.
Monitoring Allergies and Dietary Requirements: Ensure children’s allergies and dietary needs are taken into account, and ensure no cross-contamination or exposure to unsuitable foods.
Managing Transitions: Ensure children transition smoothly to other activities after lunch, such as nap time or playtime.
Communicating with Parents/Caregivers: Inform parents or guardians about their child’s lunchtime behaviour, eating habits, and any concerns that arise during lunch.
Supporting Staff: Assist other staff members in ensuring the smooth running of the nursery, offering support during lunch breaks or handling specific tasks as needed.
