About the Role

Our Nursery Practitioners look after the educational and social development of babies and young children up to the age of five. Their primary duties include providing children with a safe environment to learn, helping them to develop basic social and behavioural skills, and engaging them in age-appropriate play activities. About the Nursery

Tops Babbacombe Nursery is a 50-place Day Nursery & Pre-School located in Babbacombe Road, Torquay. The nursery offers various extracurricular activities, including Hi5s before and after school clubs for children up to age 8, Boogie Mites, and more.

What does the role involve?

• Providing daily care, including feeding, diaper changing, and toilet training, while ensuring a safe, clean, and stimulating environment.
• Developing and leading engaging, age-appropriate activities that promote learning in social, emotional, physical, and cognitive domains.
• Observing children’s development, identifying concerns, and supporting motor, language, and social skills through play and structured learning.
• Ensuring children’s safety and emotional well-being, fostering an environment that encourages exploration and independent learning.
• Maintaining records of each child's progress, milestones, behaviors, and developmental needs, aligned with the UK’s EYFS framework.
• Communicating regularly with parents or guardians about their child's progress and needs.

What are we looking for?

• A minimum of a Level 3 Early Years Qualification.
• A strong understanding of safeguarding procedures.
