Our client is part of a private independent children's day nursery group with an excellent reputation in their local communities. The Nursery Practitioner plays a crucial role in providing high-quality care and education to young children in a nursery setting. They are responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where children can learn and develop through play and structured activities. Working closely with other nursery staff, parents, and external agencies, the Nursery Practitioner ensures the well-being, growth, and development of each child under their care.

Childcare and Supervision:
Provide attentive care and supervision to children at all times, ensuring their safety and well-being.
Plan and organize age-appropriate activities and experiences that promote physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development.
Foster positive relationships with children, encouraging their independence, self-esteem, and confidence.

Curriculum Implementation:
Follow Curriculum for Excellence and Realising the Ambition along with all relevant frameworks for planning and delivering activities.
Create engaging learning environments both indoors and outdoors, incorporating resources and materials that support learning objectives.
Observe and assess children's progress, keeping accurate records of their development and achievements.

Communication and Partnership:
Maintain open and effective communication with parents, providing regular updates on their child's progress, well-being, and any concerns.
Collaborate with colleagues and other professionals, such as speech therapists or social workers, to support children with additional needs or developmental challenges.
Attend meetings, workshops, and training sessions to enhance professional knowledge and skills.

Health and Safety:
Adhere to health and safety regulations, ensuring the nursery environment is clean, safe, and hygienic at all times.
Administer first aid when necessary and follow appropriate procedures in case of emergencies or accidents.
Promote healthy eating habits and encourage good personal hygiene practices among children.

Teamwork and Professionalism:
Work collaboratively with other nursery staff, supporting each other in daily tasks and responsibilities.
Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to providing high-quality care and education to children and families.
Contribute to the overall ethos and goals of the nursery, participating in team meetings, planning sessions, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications and Skills:
SVQ3 in Early Learning and Childcare at SCQF Level 7 or equivalent qualification (Essential)
Knowledge of the Curriculum for Excellence and Realising the Ambition (Essential)
Previous experience working in a nursery or early years setting (Desirable)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with young children
Basic understanding of child development principles and best practices

Salary: £26000 - £27000 p.a.

£1,000 starting bonus
