Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting Nursery Practitioners and Nursery Assistants to support nursery settings in Braintree and surrounding areas. We offer flexible ad hoc, day-to-day, part-time and full-time opportunities across multiple nurseries.

As a Nursery Practitioner or Nursery Assistant, you will deliver EYFS-based activities, support learning, routines and safeguarding, and foster positive relationships with children and staff.

Qualifications

• Qualified Nursery Practitioners: Level 2 or 3 Early Years qualification.
• Unqualified candidates may be suitable for Nursery Assistant positions with previous nursery experience.

Responsibilities

• Support children's learning and development in line with EYFS.
• Deliver fun, age-appropriate activities.
• Support communication, social and emotional development.
• Assist with daily routines including mealtimes, personal care and play.
• Build positive relationships with children and colleagues.

TeacherActive is recruiting Nursery Practitioners and Nursery Assistants to work across nursery settings in Braintree and the surrounding areas.

We have a range of opportunities available for candidates looking for flexible agency work, regular weekly shifts or longer-term positions. Whether you are an experienced childcare professional, hold a recognised Early Years qualification or have previous experience working with children, we would love to hear from you.

THE ROLE

As a Nursery Practitioner or Nursery Assistant, you will support nursery teams in providing a safe, caring and stimulating environment where children can learn, play and develop.

Your responsibilities may include:

Supporting children's learning and development in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.

Helping deliver fun, engaging and age-appropriate activities.

Supporting children's communication, social skills and emotional development.

Assisting with daily routines, including mealtimes, personal care and play.

Building positive relationships with children and colleagues.

Maintaining a safe and welcoming environment.

Following safeguarding procedures and nursery policies.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

We have opportunities for candidates with different qualifications and levels of experience, depending on the requirements of each nursery.

Qualified Nursery Practitioners

For qualified positions, you will generally need a recognised Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Early Years or Childcare, such as:

Level 2 Diploma for Early Years Practitioners.

Level 3 Diploma for Early Years Educators.

An equivalent recognised Early Years or Childcare qualification accepted by the setting.

Nursery Assistants & Unqualified Candidates

If you do not hold a recognised childcare qualification, you may still be suitable for certain Nursery Assistant positions. Previous experience in a nursery, preschool or another childcare environment is beneficial, although requirements will vary between settings.
