Job summary

Early Learners Nursery (Wigan) seeks a proactive manager to support its team and oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring compliant delivery of EYFS. The role focuses on creating a safe, stimulating environment for babies and young children and coordinating with staff to achieve excellence across classrooms.

Applicants should hold a level 3+ Early Years qualification or childcare degree and/or NQT, with GCSEs in Maths and English at C or above.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Level 3+ Early Years qualification or childcare degree/NQT.
  • GCSE Maths and English (C+) required.
  • Safeguarding/child protection training.
  • Two reference contacts (one current employer).
  • Provide copies of relevant certificates.
  • Be prepared for interview and tour of facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations and EYFS compliance.
  • Support children, parents and carers and work with the team.
  • Ensure a safe, inclusive learning environment for all children.
  • Prepare for and participate in the interview process and facility tours.

Job description

We are searching for a proactive candidate who can effectively support our manger and its team. The position involves having a high level of responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the company. The job involves being responsible for overseeing and successfully delivering the Early years Foundation Stage Statutory Guidance (EYFS).

A candidate for this position will need to demonstrate the ability to successfully manage children, support parents & carers and work alongside others. They must be proactive, have a positive approach to learning and be open to change as Early Learners is an evolving and growing company who continuously strive for excellence.

They must provide a safe, stimulating and inclusive environment in which babies and young children are supported and encouraged to achieve their full potential. All candidates must provide evidence of a minimum Early Years qualification of a level 3+, childcare degree and/or NQT, equivalent or higher to apply for a position., Copies of your relevant Childcare certificates (level 3 childcare diploma, foundation degree, full degree, QT, EYP etc.).

Copies of your GCSE certificates (Maths & English grades C and above - essential to apply)

Any copies of safeguarding/ child protection training and level.

Two contacts and addresses for written references (one needs to be current employer)

We will show you around our facilities and give you the opportunity to see or work within each of our classrooms and ask our team questions. Safety is paramount with working with children so please ensure you come prepared and wear appropriate clothing.

The interview

The interview is led by a member of our management team. We will ask you questions and review the following areas:

  • Childcare history and experience,
  • Special Educational Needs and Disabilities experience,
  • Qualification(s) & awards,
  • Knowledge and understand of the EYFS,
  • Safeguarding and child protection.
  • Certificate of Higher Education (preferred)
Experience
  • Cache Level 3 in Childcare (preferred)
  • Paediatric First Aid Certification (preferred)
  • Child Protection (preferred)

Early Learners Nurseries has been caring for babies and young children since 1985 and is a family run company. We want passionate Early Years Professionals to join our expanding workforce.
