Job description

HMP Peterborough is recruiting a dedicated and caring Nursery Nurse to provide safe, high-quality education and care for pre-school children. The role includes supporting visiting health professionals, students, parents, pregnant prisoners, and MBU officers.

The ideal candidate will:

• Support team members and participate in decision-making processes
• Liaise with and support parents regardless of their status
• Be flexible with working practices within the prison and nursery, including domestic duties
• Collaborate with management and team members on the mother and baby unit to uphold Sodexo's beliefs and project philosophies
• Coordinate with outside agencies such as health visitors, doctors, and volunteers
• Record accidents and observations following Sodexo and OFSTED guidelines
• Maintain confidentiality of all received information
• Complete 4-week and ongoing 8-week care plans with mothers, children, and MBU management
• Ensure food safety and hygiene standards are met
