Job summary

Willingcare in Newport is seeking an experienced Nursery Manager to lead a busy early years setting. You will oversee day-to-day operations, staff development and high-quality care across baby, toddler and pre-school rooms, ensuring EYFS delivery and safeguarding standards are met.

The role requires a Level 5 EY qualification or above, 3+ years in a Nursery Manager position, and strong skills in budgeting, occupancy, and team leadership. Salary up to £44,500 plus benefits and annual leave.

Qualifications

• 3 years' experience as Nursery Manager (essential)
• Strong EYFS knowledge including safeguarding and Ofsted requirements
• Experience leading and developing a nursery team
• Confidence managing budgets and financial performance of a setting
• Overseeing staffing, occupancy and day-to-day nursery operations

Nursery Manager

Up to £44,500 per year | 40 Hours per Week

Strong nursery leadership is about creating the right environment for children to thrive, teams to develop and the setting itself to succeed.

This nursery provides dedicated rooms for babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers, with each space designed around the different stages of Early Years development. Children are encouraged to explore, discover and grow at their own pace, with a strong emphasis on developing curiosity, confidence and independence through meaningful everyday experiences.

We’re looking for an established Nursery Manager with at least three years’ management experience who can bring strong Early Years knowledge alongside the operational and financial skills needed to successfully lead a nursery.

What We’re Looking For

• A Level 5 childcare/Early Years qualification or above
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Nursery Manager – essential
• Strong knowledge of the EYFS, safeguarding and Ofsted requirements
• Proven experience leading and developing a nursery team
• Confidence managing budgets and the financial performance of a setting
• Experience overseeing staffing, occupancy and day-to-day nursery operations
