Job summary

Wood Street Infant School and Worplesdon Primary School are seeking a dedicated Nursery Lead Assistant to join our new teacher-led nursery. You will support pupils with targeted care and learning under the Nursery Teacher and Senior Leaders, with occasional class leadership in the teacher’s absence.

Ideal candidates hold Early Years Level 3 (or HLTA/NNEB) and are willing to study further if needed. We offer flexible, term-time hours and a supportive, friendly environment.

Qualifications

• Early Years Qualification Level 3 (minimum) or HLTA, or NNEB or equivalent.
• Willingness to study for it.

Responsibilities

• Lead classes in the teacher’s absence.
• Provide effective care and learning support under guidance of Nursery Teacher and Senior Leaders.
• Ensure welfare and inclusion of all pupils within the nursery setting.
• Assist with developing independence among pupils.

Monday to Friday - 12.30 - 6pmPay grade: £28,707 Full Time Equivalent £18,671 pro rataStart date: 4th January 2027Wood Street Infant School and Worplesdon Primary School are seeking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Lead Assistant to join the welcoming and friendly team in our new teacher-led nursery at Wood Street Infant School. As an Early Years Practitioner, you will provide effective, targeted care and learning support for pupils under the guidance of the Nursery Teacher and Senior Leaders. You will help children develop independence, occasionally lead classes in the teacher’s absence, and ensure the welfare and inclusion of all pupils. This role is undertaken within the nursery setting within Wood Street Infant school and will also be part of the Extended Day team.Do you enjoy working with children, have a caring attitude and lots of patience?
