Job summary

Ashbourne Day Nurseries Limited is seeking a part-time Nursery Kitchen Assistant to join our friendly team at Millards Grange, Houghton Regis. You will assist the Nursery Chef in preparing fresh, healthy meals for children and help maintain a clean, safe kitchen in line with food hygiene standards.

Qualifications

• Interest in health and children's nutrition.
• Some kitchen/food prep experience desirable.
• Basic knowledge of food hygiene and safety, or willingness to train.
• Reliable, organised and hardworking.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing healthy meals and snacks for children.
• Support the Nursery Chef at another site with food prep and service.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic kitchen environment.
• Wash up and clean equipment; keep kitchen tidy.
• Support stock rotation and basic food storage checks.
• Assist with catering for allergies or dietary needs following guidance.
• Work with nursery staff to support mealtimes and routines.
• Follow all food hygiene, health & safety, and safeguarding procedures.
