Job summary

Shooting Stars Nurseries in Bromsgrove is seeking a reliable Kitchen Assistant to support the Nursery Cook in preparing and serving nutritious meals for children aged 0 to 5 years. The role also includes light housekeeping to keep a clean and welcoming environment.

You will need previous commercial kitchen experience and a good understanding of food hygiene. The position is 25 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with pay up to £12.21 per hour, dependent on age.

Qualifications

• Previous commercial kitchen experience essential.
• Good knowledge of food hygiene and safe handling.
• Able to work in a busy kitchen environment.

Responsibilities

• Support the Nursery Cook in planning, preparing and serving a balanced, nutritious and varied menu for children.
• Assist in meeting children's nutritional needs while following current healthy eating guidance.
• Prepare food safely and in accordance with Food Safety Regulations and company procedures.
• Support stock control, deliveries and kitchen cleanliness.
