Job summary

Holy Cross Pre-school Nursery and Kids’ Club in Sutton Coldfield is seeking a Nursery Deputy Manager and SENCO to lead the setting in the manager’s absence and oversee SEND provision in line with EYFS. You will coordinate SEND interventions, work with parents, liaise with external professionals, and ensure safeguarding, health and safety, and Ofsted readiness.

This role includes staff development, budget support, and contributing to a safe, inclusive, high‑quality childcare environment.

Qualifications

• Lead and coordinate the provision for children with SEND across the nursery.
• Ensure the nursery meets SEND Code of Practice and EYFS requirements.
• Identify, monitor and support children with additional needs.
• Develop, implement and review Individual Support Plans (ISPs) and targeted learning plans where appropriate.
• Maintain accurate, confidential records and ensure documentation is completed in line with statutory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Promote our values and ethos to ensure a child-centred, safe and stimulating environment is provided.
• In the absence of the manager be responsible and accountable for the day to day operational and organisational aspects of the nursery.
• Work in partnership with local childcare/education providers, health providers and all other agencies.
• Develop and maintain procedures for review and assessment of each child’s progress.
• Support and manage alongside the manager an effective parent liaison programme.
• Lead the nursery team while promoting positivity and professionalism.
• Lead with a genuine desire to train and develop staff, supervising and supporting their professional development and day to day practice.
