Job summary

Teach Tiny in Norwich is seeking a friendly Chef to join our nursery kitchen team, preparing nutritious meals and snacks for children.

You’ll work with a supportive nursery team, follow Level 2 Food Hygiene standards, cater for allergies, keep the kitchen hygienic, manage stock, and help children discover healthy eating in a joyful environment. We value pride in cooking and the difference good food makes to little ones' days, smiles and growth.

Qualifications

• Experience in professional cooking or catering.
• Level 2 Food Hygiene qualification is essential.
• Experience catering for allergies and dietary requirements.
• Knowledge of food safety and safe food handling.
• Able to work effectively within a nursery team.
• Organised, reliable and capable of managing a kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Preparing healthy, balanced meals and snacks for children.
• Creating varied menus packed with nutritious ingredients.
• Catering for allergies and dietary requirements.
• Keeping the kitchen clean, safe and hygienic at all times.
• Managing food stock and minimizing waste.
• Working closely with nursery staff to support children's nutrition.

Do you love creating delicious food and seeing people enjoy it? Are you looking for a role where your cooking can make a real difference?

Teach Tiny is looking for a fantastic Chef to join a lovely Nursery / Pre-School setting in Norwich.

This is your chance to take your culinary skills into a fun, friendly and rewarding early years environment, preparing nutritious meals and snacks for little ones and helping them discover a love of good food.

And don't worry - you won't be expected to make tiny soufflés!

What's on the menu?

• Preparing healthy, balanced meals and snacks
• Creating varied menus packed with nutritious ingredients
• Introducing children to new foods, flavours and textures
• Catering carefully for allergies and dietary requirements
• Keeping the kitchen clean, safe and hygienic
• Managing food stock and helping to minimise waste
• Working closely with the nursery team to support children's nutritional needs
• Making mealtimes a positive and enjoyable part of the children's day

Are you the Chef we're looking for?

• Experienced in professional cooking or catering
• Qualified to at least Level 2 in Food Hygiene – essential
• Passionate about preparing fresh, nutritious food
• Knowledgeable about food hygiene and safe food preparation
• Confident catering for allergies and dietary requirements
• Organised, reliable and able to manage their own kitchen
• Friendly, patient and approachable
• Comfortable working as part of a wider nursery team

Previous experience working with children, in a nursery, school or other education setting would be preferable, but isn't essential.

Most importantly, we're looking for someone who takes pride in their cooking and understands that good food can play a big part in happy, healthy childhoods.
