Our client is a new Children’s Day Nursery, located near Hendon, North London, which provides high-quality day care for early years education for children aged 6 months – 5 years. They create a comfortable, home-like atmosphere. The Nursery is more than just daycare; it’s about the start of every child’s education, preparation for school, and laying the foundation for a successful journey beyond education.

What’s involved?

As the Nursery cook, you will be responsible for preparing breakfast, snacks, lunch, and tea for 84 children and 35 staff members. All menus are specially created by a nutritionist to cater for various needs and dietary requirements. The nursery’s food menus are all meat-free but pescatarian, and everything is made fresh on site. Therefore, you must have a good understanding of cooking fish/shellfish and vegetarian dishes. Your duties will include managing all aspects of kitchen operations, including ordering, stock rotation, health and safety, risk assessments, COSHH compliance, and overall kitchen management.
