Job summary

Kids Planet Basford is seeking a dedicated Nursery Cook to prepare healthy, child-friendly meals for our early years setting. You’ll work Monday to Friday with no weekends or bank holidays, shaping daily menus and ensuring meals meet dietary needs.

Qualifications

• Catering experience in a nursery or similar environment.
• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
• Knowledge of dietary needs and allergen management.

Responsibilities

• Prepare healthy, nutritious meals accommodating allergies and dietary needs.
• Maintain a clean, compliant kitchen meeting health standards.
• Collaborate with staff and children in snack-making activities.

Being a Nursery Cook at Kids Planet gives you the opportunity to work Monday to Friday, NO WEEKENDS or BANK HOLIDAYS and allows you to be inventive creating menus and giving our children access to delicious tasting meals.

How you’ll make a difference as a Nursery cook:

• By preparing healthy, nutritious meals, accommodating allergies and special dietary requirements for all children.
• Through maintaining a clean and tidy kitchen, ensuring compliance with environmental health standards.
• By collaborating with children and the nursery team in snack-making and baking activities.

What a Nursery cook needs:

• Catering experience, preferably in a similar environment.
• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
• Knowledge of food preparation for special dietary needs.
