Family First Nurseries Group in Arlesey, United Kingdom is seeking a committed Nursery Chef to join Acre Wood Day Nursery's kitchen team. This part-time role offers 25 hours per week, with shifts from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, year-round.

You will prepare nutritious meals for children, manage budgets, maintain hygiene, and accommodate dietary requirements. A DBS check is required; benefits include annual leave and childcare discounts as part of the package.

Qualifications

• Sound knowledge of managing dietary requirements and food allergies.
• COSHH knowledge and safe handling.
• Ability to work to a catering budget and maintain consistent standards.

Responsibilities

• Keep the kitchen clean and safe; complete the Kitchen Hygiene Checklist monthly and the Cleaning Schedule.
• Ensure high levels of cleanliness in nursery and kitchen.
• Cook age-appropriate meals daily for all children with minimal wastage.
• Cater for dietary requirements and communicate clearly to teams.
• Follow Red/Amber/Green plate procedures and health protocols.
• Work with nursery team and parents to promote healthy meals.
• Plan food orders to meet budgetary requirements.
