Job summary

Les Petites Etoiles Nurseries is hiring a nursery cook who will support all five locations and cover the main nursery chefs during leave. The role includes kitchen management and classroom coverage when needed, based in Tufnell Park with childcare duties on occasion.

The position is full-time with a plan to enroll in a Level 3 Childcare qualification after probation, and offers a comprehensive benefits package, including paid holidays and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Experience preparing food for large numbers of children and/or adults.
• Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate or above.
• Food Allergen Awareness.
• At least one year of childcare experience.
• Health & Safety and safeguarding practices.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high hygiene standards following Food Standard Agency and Environmental Health guidelines.
• Prepare a balanced rotating menu considering dietary and cultural requirements.
• Keep kitchen procedures and records up to date.
• Undertake other reasonable catering duties as requested by the Nursery Manager.
• Ensure crockery, cutlery and utensils are cleaned according to food safety guidelines.
• Ensure meals are ready at the specified times and properly served.
• Support equal opportunities policy and inclusive practice in the classroom.

We have a job position at Les Petites Etoiles! Opportunity for a Cook also looking for working in the classroom and complete a Level 3 in Childcare.

This is a permanent position, full-time 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Salary: £26,000 (salary progression once you complete the Level 3)

Holiday: 7 weeks of paid holiday

Les Petites Etoiles Nurseries is a group of 5 private bilingual nurseries located across North London. Our nurseries are situated in the vibrant neighbourhoods of Angel, Crouch Hill, Paddington, Tufnell Park, and West Hampstead. For over a decade, we have been dedicated to providing exceptional childcare services in an enriching and nurturing environment.

Job Role

We are looking to hire an experienced nursery cook who will work across all our 5 locations to cover the main nursery chefs when they are on annual/sick leave. The right candidate will be based in Tufnell Park and will require some childcare experience to cover in the classrooms when necessary.

This is a full-time permanent position. As a Cook, you will be solely responsible for the day-to-day running of the kitchen. This will include the preparation of an entirely organic set menu plan (provided by the school) which consists of a morning snack (chopped fruit), preparation of lunch and an afternoon snack (varying from smoothies to sandwiches).

As a Classroom Assistant, you will be working across all rooms where ages range from 6 months to 4 years. You will support the room leaders and team within the rooms, giving you great experience as a practitioner and enhancing your development. Once you complete the probation period sucessfuly, we will enroll you on a Level 3 qualification in Childcare!

The chosen candidate will be responsible for caring for the children, supervising their daily activities, and organising and preparing activities and materials.
