We’re delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a vibrant nursery in Bristol BS5, which is part of a well-respected national childcare group. They’re currently seeking an experienced and passionate Nursery Chef to lead the kitchen and provide children with healthy, balanced, and nutritious meals in a newly refurbished setting equipped with brand-new facilities.

Work in a newly refurbished kitchen with updated equipment
Responsibilities:
Plan and prepare healthy, seasonal menus on a 6-month rotation
Gather feedback from managers and catering teams to improve menus
Ensure nutritional standards are met in line with best practices
Oversee daily kitchen operations and maintain hygiene and safety standards
Support catering staff and assist with recruitment and training
Conduct regular kitchen audits to ensure full compliance
Complete and maintain all required kitchen documentation and records
Work closely with nursery teams to align food service with childcare needs
Requirements:
Experience working as a chef or cook, ideally in a childcare, school, or care setting
Strong understanding of nutritional needs for children
Food hygiene and safety qualifications (e.g. Level 2 Food Hygiene)
Excellent kitchen management and organisational skills
A passion for preparing fresh, wholesome meals in a caring environment
