Our lovely nursery in Brentford High Street is looking for a skilled Chef to join our team in creating delicious culinary experiences for our children. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation, a good awareness of nutrition and healthy eating, and a commitment to ensuring high standards of food safety and quality. The role is based on a 38-hour working week, Monday to Friday, with a salary of approximately £29k plus many great benefits. The nursery is easily accessible via good transport links.

The Pump House Day Nursery is ideally located between Brentford High Street and the riverside and is part of the CC Nurseries Group. It offers a high-quality care environment with a 92-place setting, designed to spark curiosity and imagination. Each room is filled with resources that encourage self-directed play and discovery, led by a passionate and caring team.

Requirements

Ideally, you will have:

1. Previous experience in a similar role;
2. Food & Hygiene Level 3 Certificate (or at least Level 2);
3. Proven experience as a Chef;
4. Experience cooking and preparing meals for 70 children;
5. Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, food production, and culinary techniques;
6. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team;
7. Proficiency in menu planning, recipe development, and cost control;
8. Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices;
9. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail;
10. Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with staff at all levels.
