Job summary

Nurseplus is seeking a Nursery Assistant to provide day-to-day cover across local nurseries. You’ll support children’s development, ensure safety, and help with activities across South Wiltshire, Salisbury and surrounding areas.

You must be over 18 with the right to work in the UK. Prior nursery experience and a clear enhanced DBS are desirable, with NVQ Level 2/3 preferred. Training and ongoing development are provided.

Qualifications

• Over 18 years old and right to work in the UK.
• Nursery or childcare experience is desirable.
• NVQ Diploma Level 2 or 3 is desirable.
• Good standard of English and clear communication.
• A clear enhanced DBS (applied for upon registration).

Responsibilities

• Manage daily schedule and routine tasks for children (feeding, toilet, rest).
• Support children's development through play and planned activities.
• Ensure a clean, safe environment and assist with record keeping and health and safety adherence.

What You’ll Be Doing

Working in early year's settings across south Wiltshire - Salisbury & all surrounding areas

Your day-to-day responsibilities as a Nursery Assistant may include managing the daily schedule, assisting with routine tasks such as feeding, toilet breaks, rest time, and ensuring a clean and safe environment for all children. You’ll collaborate with other team members to plan and implement education activities helping children learn, whilst also adhering to health and safety regulations, conducting risk assessments and assisting with record keeping.

What We’re Looking For

• You must be over 18 years old and have the right to work in the UK.
• Previous experience working within a nursery or childcare setting is desirable.
• NVQ Diploma Level 2 or 3 is desirable.
• A good standard of English and the ability to communicate effectively.
• A clear enhanced DBS, which you can apply for upon registration.
