Job summary

TeacherActive is working with a nursery in Abertillery to recruit a Level 3 Nursery Assistant on a short-term, part-time basis starting September 2026. The role is 16 hours per week, Tue-Thu during term time, supporting children aged 2-4 with learning, development and daily activities.

The ideal candidate will have a Level 3 Early Years/Childcare qualification, basic Welsh language skills, a caring and enthusiastic disposition, and the ability to work well in a team.

Salary: £14.25 - £14.50 per hour

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a nursery in Abertillery that provides care and early years education for children aged 2-4 years. The setting is looking for a positive Nursery Assistant who can contribute to a supportive and engaging environment for its children.

The nursery is looking to take on a Level 3 Nursery Assistant on a short-term, part-time basis from September 2026, working 16 hours per week between Tuesday and Thursday during term time only. The successful Nursery Assistant will support children aged 2-4 years with their learning, development and daily activities, with basic Welsh language skills essential for the role.

The successful Nursery Assistant will have:

• Level 3 qualification in Early Years or Childcare
• Experience working with children aged 2-4 years in a nursery or Early Years setting
• Basic Welsh language skills
• Knowledge of supporting children's learning and development
• A caring and enthusiastic approach
• Reliability and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
