Job summary

The Old School House Day Nursery is seeking a Nursery Apprentice who is passionate about working with children and who wants to undertake a Level 3 qualification. You will join a warm, responsive team dedicated to creating a high-quality, stimulating learning environment and supporting children and families.

The role includes on-the-job training, safeguarding responsibilities, and working toward the Level 3 Early Years Educator apprenticeship. Expect a 40-hour week with shifts to be agreed.

Qualifications

• Love of children and genuine warmth toward them.
• Willingness to work towards Level 3 Early Years Educator apprenticeship.
• GCSE Maths/English or equivalent or willingness to work towards functional skills.

Responsibilities

• Promote positive relationships in the setting.
• Promote health, safety and well-being of the children.
• Support children’s development, learning and play.
• Support key persons with child/family relationships; manage a small cohort when ready.
• Contribute to effective teamwork.
• Be a role model with high-quality practice in group work with children.
• Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed in line with Local Authority and Company procedures.
