Job summary

Sowing & Growing Nursery is seeking a motivated Childcare Apprentice who will study toward the Early Years Educator Level 3 apprenticeship. You will gain hands-on experience across all nursery activities and develop skills in supporting children's communication and development.

You will work with a welcoming team, participate in apprenticeship learning, and contribute to creating a safe, caring environment that promotes learning through play.

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of high-quality care and learning experiences for children aged 0-5 years.
• Help create a safe, stimulating and inclusive environment that promotes children's learning and development.
• Build positive relationships with children, parents, carers and colleagues.
• Support children's communication, language, social and emotional development through play and planned activities.
• Assist with planning and delivering age-appropriate activities in line with the EYFS framework.
• Work towards becoming a Key Person, supporting a small group of children and maintaining learning journeys.
• Observe, monitor and record children's progress with guidance from experienced practitioners.
• Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and nursery policies and procedures at all times.
• Help prepare and maintain engaging indoor and outdoor learning environments.
• Support children's personal care, mealtimes and daily routines while promoting independence.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and safety throughout the nursery.
• Attend team meetings, training sessions and apprenticeship learning activities.
• Work collaboratively with the nursery team to provide the highest standard of childcare.
• Develop your knowledge, skills and behaviours throughout the apprenticeship programme.
