Job Description:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Nurse Practitioner or Trainee Nurse Practitioner within the Pre-assessment suite at Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy. We seek a motivated and experienced nurse to support the Senior Charge Nurse in delivering a clinically effective service preparing patients for surgery.

The role involves working primarily Monday to Friday, with potential duties at Queen Margaret Hospital, Dunfermline. The nurse practitioner will support the management of waiting list patients attending for elective surgical and orthopaedic procedures, providing comprehensive assessments and managing ongoing medical needs to facilitate planned admissions.

The successful candidate will assess, evaluate, and optimize patients' health preoperatively, liaise with surgical wards and theatres for admission and discharge planning, and develop the role to meet patient and service needs.

Applicants should have relevant experience in surgical or orthopaedic settings, knowledge of the surgical/orthopaedic pathway is desirable, and be willing to undertake or currently be undertaking the Advanced Clinical Examination and Non-Medical Prescribing course.
