Your Role and Responsibilities
- Liaise with Irwin Mitchell clients who have sustained serious injuries or illnesses to provide education, support, signposting, and advocacy. Manage expectations and support clients and their families through treatment, rehabilitation, or illness management, while assisting solicitors.
- Facilitate smooth transitions for new clients from NHS services, coordinating with medical, therapeutic, and care staff regarding discharges and providing practical advice on local services.
- Resolve client issues by building relationships, collaborating with relevant bodies, and assessing individual needs. Act on referrals from case handlers/lawyers, document actions, and work autonomously or with families.
- Serve as a communication link between lawyers, public bodies, charities, NHS, and DWP to ensure effective service delivery and secure additional support. Offer ongoing support, signposting, and practical assistance, maximizing clients' statutory entitlements (supported by our Benefits Team).

About You
- Experience within the UK healthcare or social care system.

- Knowledge of healthcare, rehabilitation, welfare policy, and advocacy services.
- Understanding of rehabilitation codes, Mental Capacity Act, and welfare benefits.
- Awareness of external stakeholders like Headway, SIA, Aspire.
- Experience in clinical, health/social care, or rehabilitation settings.
- Understanding of complex conditions (e.g., brain, spinal cord injuries, orthopaedic injuries, birth injuries, industrial diseases, bereavement).
- Experience working across multiple settings (acute, post-acute, community).
