Care Home Nurse - Full-time & Part-time - Days or Nights

£1000.00 Signing Bonus on Completion of Probation

Responsibilities and Duties:

  1. Care:
  2. Ensure all staff contribute to the efficient running of the home and create an atmosphere in the best interests of residents. Duties may include acting up for the Home Manager in their absence.
  3. Report any ill health among clients and request GP or professional visits when necessary.
  4. Ensure clients' care plans are completed and maintained with clients, relatives, and other healthcare professionals, following NMC guidelines and company policy.
  5. Assess all aspects of clients' care needs and provide health supervision and direct nursing care as required.
  6. Assess social and healthcare needs of new clients and maintain ongoing assessments and reviews of all clients.
  7. Maintain accurate records and ensure each client has an individualised care plan, reviewed bi-monthly or more frequently if needed, following NMC guidelines and company policy.
  8. Conduct regular checks on clients at intervals determined by the Home Manager, with clear handover reports at each shift's end.
  9. Administer prescribed medicines and document in accordance with company procedures and NMC guidelines.
  10. Practice maximum integrity in dealings with clients' personal and financial affairs, avoiding abuse of the privileged relationship.

Communication:

  1. Participate in staff and client meetings as required.
  2. Establish and maintain good communication with clients, relatives, and the multidisciplinary team. Provide administrative support when needed.

Health & Safety:

  1. Report immediately to the Home Manager or Person in Charge any illness of an infectious nature or accidents involving clients, colleagues, or self.
  2. Understand and implement the Care Centre’s health and safety policies, emergency, and fire procedures.
  3. Report faulty appliances, damaged furniture, equipment, or hazards to the Home Manager or Handyperson.
  4. Promote safe working practices within the Care Centre.

Required:

  • Registered nurse (1st level)
  • Effective communication skills at all levels
  • Genuine interest in working with the relevant client group
  • Satisfactory police check and check against the POVA list (where applicable)
  • Registration with the NMC
