Job summary

The InHealth Group is advertising a nurse post on a mobile Lung Cancer Screening Programme, delivering nurse-led respiratory assessments, including referrals for low-dose CT scans and smoking cessation advice. You will work across multiple mobile sites with three 12-hour shifts weekly, and weekend flexibility.

Travel between sites is required and visa sponsorship is not available. You must hold valid NMC registration and have at least two years' experience caring for patients with respiratory

Qualifications

• Valid NMC registration to practise in the UK.
• At least 2 years’ experience caring for patients with respiratory conditions.
• Willingness to travel between mobile screening sites.

Responsibilities

• Run nurse-led clinics, virtual and face-to-face, within the lung health pathway.
• Complete respiratory assessments to identify patients at risk.
• Refer suitable patients for low-dose CT scans.
• Provide evidence-based smoking cessation advice and health education.
• Promote healthier lifestyles to improve respiratory health.
• Identify safeguarding concerns and medical emergencies promptly.
• Maintain CPD and undertake required training (IRMER/ARTP as needed).

Job description

A nurse post in InHealth Group's mobile Lung Cancer Screening Programme, working on early detection of lung cancer and other respiratory conditions. The work centres on nurse-led virtual and face-to-face respiratory assessments, referring suitable patients for low-dose CT scans, and giving smoking cessation advice. It runs as three 12-hour shifts a week with weekend flexibility, and the nurse manages clinics autonomously. Visa sponsorship is not available, and a valid NMC registration is needed.

What the job involves

• Run nurse-led clinics, virtual and face-to-face, within the lung health assessment pathway
• Complete respiratory assessments to identify patients at increased risk of lung disease
• Refer suitable patients for low-dose CT scans
• Give evidence-based smoking cessation advice and ongoing health education
• Encourage healthier lifestyles so patients can take more control of their respiratory health
• Spot and accelerate safeguarding concerns, red-flag symptoms and medical emergencies
• Keep professional competencies current and complete required training, including IRMER and ARTP spirometry accreditation where needed
