Job summary

Arabelle Solutions in Rugby is seeking a Turbine Retrofit Concept Mechanical Design Engineer to develop innovative retrofit designs for nuclear steam turbines. You’ll play a key role in upgrading existing turbine components, working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

The ideal candidate holds a BEng in Mechanical Engineering, has a minimum of 3 years of experience, and is proficient with CATIA V5. Strong communication skills and the ability to work autonomously are essential. A supportive culture and opportunities for professional development await you.

Position requires UK Security Clearance, and support for application is provided if needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a mechanical design engineering environment.
• Background in steam turbines, power & energy, oil & gas, or aeronautics is desirable.
• Hold relevant UK Security Clearance or be eligible to apply.

Responsibilities

• Develop 2D and 3D concept designs of steam turbine components using CATIA V5.
• Perform design and adaptation studies for turbine components.
• Carry out mechanical design calculations (forces, stresses).
• Gather and analyse data for retrofit solutions.
• Produce technical drawings, reports, and presentations.

Skills

CAD proficiency (CATIA V5 preferred)

Strong mechanical design fundamentals

Knowledge of standard mechanical components

Understanding of manufacturing processes

Proficient in common IT tools: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook

Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills

Professional working proficiency in English

Education

BEng in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
