Job summary

Office for Nuclear Regulation in the UK is seeking a Structural Integrity specialist to regulate the nuclear industry across Great Britain. You will assess safety cases and inspect licensees' arrangements on site, and lead technical assessments with robust, evidence-based judgments.

Your work covers pressure vessels, pipework, tanks and supporting structures in reactors and related facilities. Hybrid working options are available.

Qualifications

• In-depth knowledge of the integrity of pressure vessels, pipework, tanks and supporting structures in nuclear safety significant systems.
• Specialist knowledge in structural integrity with understanding of the wider safety case.
• Strong technical judgement and risk-based recommendations.
• Honours degree, or equivalent; Chartered membership, or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of materials behaviour, degradation and non-destructive examination.

Responsibilities

• Conduct investigations, research projects and international collaboration.
