Job summary

Office for Nuclear Regulation is recruiting a Structural Integrity Inspector to regulate nuclear safety across UK facilities. You will lead structural integrity assessments of pressure vessels, pipework and vessels, ensuring compliance with safety cases and regulatory expectations.

You will apply expert judgement, guidance on ENIQ and tech assessment, and drive proactive interventions with a focus on safety, security and continuous improvement within a hybrid working environment.

Qualifications

• A good honours degree, or equivalent in a subject appropriate to the specialism, or the ability to demonstrate performance and experience at an equivalent professional level.
• Chartered membership of a relevant professional institution, or the ability to demonstrate performance and/or experience at an equivalent professional level.

Responsibilities

• Undertake and lead structural integrity assessments across reactor designs, plants and facilities.
• Assess safety cases and provide technical judgements on adequacy of safety arguments and interventions.
• Lead or contribute to investigations, research commissioning and specialist assessments.
• Mentor future inspectors and develop skills within the team.
