ONR is seeking an experienced Nuclear Supply Chain Inspector to regulate procurement, oversight and assurance across the duty holder and supply chain within the UK’s nuclear sector.

You will assess safety submissions, manage intervention projects, and possibly conduct investigations while mentoring the next generation of inspectors. A strong background in quality management and procurement within high-hazard settings is essential.

Competenze

• Degree level qualification or equivalent in engineering, physical sciences or a subject appropriate to the specialism.
• Chartered membership of a relevant professional institution, or the ability to demonstrate performance and/or experience at an equivalent professional level.
• Knowledge and experience of effective supply chain management in delivering ‘right first time,’ plant, equipment, and services in the nuclear sector, including risks, opportunities, challenges, and mitigation methods.
• Experience of the specification of requirements, procurement processes, oversight and assurance and the application of relevant codes, legal and regulatory framework and standards representing good practice.
• Developing, implementing, and maintaining quality management arrangements related to the acquisition of high-risk plant and equipment.
• Knowledge of one or more nuclear/high hazard facilities (e.g., PWRs, AGRs, high hazard processing plants).
• Ability to assimilate, analyse and provide judgments on new and complex technical issues clearly and concisely.
• Strong communication, decision making and influencing skills with risk-based prioritisation.

Mansioni

• Regulate construction of new nuclear build and decommissioning of legacy facilities.
• Undertake planned and reactive inspections on site.
• Assess safety submissions or manage discrete intervention projects.
• Possible investigations, manage research projects, and mentor the next generation of inspectors.
• Inspect supply chain management arrangements to ensure right-first-time delivery and appropriate oversight of procurement and assurance.
