Energy Jobline CVL in Glasgow is seeking an experienced Nuclear Safety Case Engineer to support major defence and UK nuclear projects. The role involves developing and delivering safety cases, hazard analyses and safety documentation, with occasional client-site travel.

The position requires UK regulatory knowledge, ONR expectations and strong report-writing skills; you'll lead safety case work packages and liaise with regulators and multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Experience in nuclear safety case development within the nuclear/defence sector (UK).
• Strong understanding of UK nuclear regulatory requirements and ONR expectations.
• Experience producing and reviewing technical safety assessments and documentation.
• Ability to manage technical work packages and engage with key stakeholders.

Responsabilités

• Develop, review and deliver nuclear safety cases and safety strategies.
• Undertake hazard identification and safety assessments (HAZID, HAZOP, FMEA, HAZAN).
• Produce PSRs, PCSRs and ALARP assessments.
• Support engineering design decisions and technical substantiation.
• Ensure compliance with UK regulations, standards and safety requirements.
• Liaise with clients, regulators and multidisciplinary teams.
• Lead safety case work packages and support technical reviews throughout the project lifecycle.

Nuclear Safety Case Engineer - Defence & Nuclear

Location: Glasgow (occasional travel to client sites)
Rate: £80 per hour - Inside IR35
Contract Length: 6 months

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Nuclear Safety Case Engineer to support major projects within the UK nuclear and defence sectors. This is an opportunity to work on complex, safety-critical engineering programmes, providing technical expertise and supporting the development and delivery of nuclear safety cases.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, review and deliver nuclear safety cases and associated safety strategies.
• Undertake hazard identification and safety assessments, including HAZID, HAZOP, FMEA and HAZAN.
• Produce technical safety documentation, including PSRs, PCSRs and ALARP assessments.
• Support engineering design decisions and technical substantiation activities.
• Ensure compliance with UK nuclear regulations, standards and safety requirements.
• Liaise with clients, regulators and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Lead safety case work packages and support technical reviews throughout the project lifecycle.

Essential Requirements

• Proven experience in nuclear safety case development within the nuclear or defence sector.
• Strong understanding of UK nuclear regulatory requirements and ONR expectations.
• Experience producing and reviewing technical safety assessments and documentation.
• Knowledge of hazard analysis methodologies and ALARP principles.
• Ability to manage technical work packages and engage with key stakeholders.
• Strong communication and technical report-writing skills.

Contract Details

• Location: Glasgow, with occasional client site travel.
• Rate: £80 per hour Inside IR35.
• Duration: Initial 6-month contract.
