Job summary

ALTEN is seeking an experienced Quality Control Manager to lead quality across manufacturing and installation in a highly regulated nuclear environment. The role focuses on driving a strong Nuclear Safety Culture, managing ITPs, and serving as the main client interface.

You will mentor the Quality Control team, ensure procedures align with the Business Management System, and oversee NDT, dimensional checks, and Lifetime Quality Records.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a Quality Control/Quality Management role.
• Experience in UK nuclear sector or other highly regulated industry.
• Knowledge of welding quality, NDT, and inspection processes.
• Experience leading and developing quality teams.
• Proven investigations into non-conformances and root-cause analysis.

Responsibilities

• Promote Right First Time culture across manufacturing and installation activities.
• Drive Nuclear Safety Culture behaviours throughout the organisation.
• Lead, mentor and develop the Quality Control team and ensure competency development.
• Manage and improve Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
• Oversee welding quality activities and welder qualifications.
• Serve as the primary quality interface with clients and stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with BMS and company quality standards.
• Support the Senior Project Quality Manager on manufacturing quality matters.
