Job summary

EDF is seeking experienced platers to join the Hinkley Point C project in Somerset, on-site. You will perform plating and fabrication to project specifications and nuclear safety standards, interpreting drawings and applying technical instructions to produce precise components.

Ideal candidates will have Level 3 qualifications in Plating or related fields, ACE Level 3, CCNSG passport, and proven experience in high-risk environments. Join a team focused on safety, quality, and timely delivery.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Apprenticeship or Diploma in Plating, Fabrication, Welding, Structural Steelwork, Shipbuilding or equivalent.
• ACE Card Level 3 in Plating (or equivalent).
• CCNSG Safety Passport.
• Demonstrable fabrication/assembly experience in high-risk environments.
• Ability to read and work from technical drawings and specs.
• Strong knowledge of fabrication processes, materials and quality standards.
• Understanding of nuclear safety culture and site requirements.
• Effective teamwork and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Carry out plating and fabrication to project specifications and nuclear standards.
• Interpret and apply engineering drawings and technical instructions.
• Mark out, cut, shape and weld metal components to precise tolerances.
• Inspect and verify completed work for quality and safety; report non-conformances.
• Maintain records for inspections and progress tracking.
• Participate in daily safety briefings and pre-job risk assessments.
• Report hazards and support investigations as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area per site procedures.
• Collaborate with inspectors and other trades to resolve queries.
