Job summary

Babcock’s Chemical and Process Engineering Graduate Programme at Devonport, Plymouth, offers two-year, on-site rotations across Design Authority, Plant Management, Safety Case and Operational Support. Starting salary is £35,000, with BPSS/SC clearance considerations and career progression toward Chartered status.

You’ll gain hands-on experience on nuclear systems, including onboard submarines, and receive mentorship, masterclasses and structured development throughout the programme.

Qualifications

• Minimum degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering or related discipline.
• Security clearance eligibility: BPSS, SC and naval programme information requirements.
• UK national only for some programmes; BPSS and NNPPI may apply.

Responsibilities

• Support lifecycle stages of nuclear and radiologically implicated process systems from concept to decommissioning.
• Produce engineering drawings/models using CAD and write detailed technical reports.
• Assist in inspections, validations and on-board submarine tasks as part of Devonport Facilities Engineering.
