Job summary

An integrated health organization in Torquay is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Radiographer/Technologist to join their team at the Torbay Hospital. The role requires good knowledge of Nuclear Medicine imaging and organizational skills. You will assist in a safe patient-focused service and may have opportunities for training to advance your competencies. Job description
Nuclear Medicine Radiographer / Technologist

The closing date is 22 December 2025

We are looking for a Radiographer or Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our Nuclear Medicine team, based in Torbay Hospital.

Within the past two years we have installed a GE SPECT CT Gamma Camera and the service has its own bespoke radiopharmacy unit where we prepare our daily radiopharmaceuticals for imaging.

You will have existing good working knowledge of NM imaging, have good organisational and interpersonal skills, and have NM imaging experience.

For those interested who cannot demonstrate relevant competencies, this will be a training post at band 5. Once relevant structured training and competencies have been completed, the role will be uplifted to Band 6.

Main duties of the job
  • You will work as part of the NM and wider Radiology team, supporting Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust (TSDFT) in delivering a high quality, safe and patient focussed service.
  • You will represent Nuclear Medicine, the wider Radiology team and TSDFT in a professional and appropriate manner.
  • Contribute to safe working practices, ensuring full compliance with all local and national guidance and regulatory requirements.
  • The service supports in the region of 1800 exams per year.

Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust is an Integrated Care Organisation where Hospital and Community services are managed as one. Working as part of the Nuclear Medicine team will help us to deliver timely examinations from all referrers.

Torbay Hospital is ideally situated in the town of Torquay, famed for its sandy beaches and water sports. Knowledge and Skills
  • Knowledge of legislation and guidance associated with the manufacture and preparation of radionuclide.
  • Knowledge of legislation regarding administration, storage and disposal of radioactivity decontamination techniques where necessary.
  • Evidence that candidate is a good self organiser able to work under own initiative within proficiencies achieved
