An established industry player is seeking an experienced Nuclear Medicine Technologist or Radiographer to join a dedicated team at Torbay Hospital. This role involves working with advanced imaging technology, including a 16 slice GE SPECT CT Gamma Camera, in a supportive environment focused on delivering high-quality patient care. We are looking for an experienced Nuclear Medicine Technologist or Radiographer to join our small Nuclear Medicine team, based in Torbay Hospital.
Within the past two years, we have installed a 16 slice GE SPECT CT Gamma Camera and the service has its own bespoke radio pharmacy unit where we prepare our daily radiopharmaceuticals for imaging.
You will have an existing good working knowledge of Nuclear Medicine imaging, good organisational and interpersonal skills, and Nuclear Medicine imaging experience. Ideally, you will have skills in the preparation of radiopharmaceuticals within a clean room environment; however, training in this aspect of the job will be provided.
You will work as part of the Nuclear Medicine and wider Radiology team, supporting Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust (TSDFT) in delivering a high quality, safe, and patient-focused service.
You will represent Nuclear Medicine, the wider Radiology team, and TSDFT in a professional and appropriate manner.
You will contribute to safe working practices, ensuring full compliance with all local and national guidance and regulatory requirements.
The service supports in the region of 1800 exams per year, including technetium-99m and iodine-123 based imaging techniques, and is looking to expand the service further.
Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust is an Integrated Care Organisation where Hospital and Community services are managed as one. This contributes substantially to improving our patients' care locally with the intention to have less reliance on acute bed-based care and to provide services closer to patients’ homes. Working as part of the Nuclear Medicine team will help us to deliver timely examinations from all referrers.
The Trust serves a population of 260,000 with a catchment area covering Torbay and South Dartmoor. The population increases by approximately 100,000 in the summer as a result of tourism. Torbay Hospital is ideally situated in the town of Torquay, famed for its sandy beaches and water sports. For those who prefer dry land, Dartmoor is close by and the cities of Exeter and Plymouth are located approximately 18 and 35 miles away.
