Job summary

Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Consultant in Nuclear Medicine to join a multidisciplinary team. The post offers flexible home and on-site reporting, and the opportunity to craft your own job plan with the Clinical Director.

The role includes coordinating imaging reporting, leading the department, and contributing to registrar training. The post is permanent, part-time, with a pro-rata salary between £113,565 and £150,569 per year, plus NHS-wide benefits.

Qualifications

• Full GMC registration is required.
• Entry on the GMC Specialist Register via: CCT or CESR (CP) (proposed CCT/CESR (CP) date must be within 6 months of interview) or demonstrable skills/capabilities for the post.
• An appropriate higher clinical qualification (eg MRCS, MRCP etc)
• Additional degrees, diplomas or postgraduate thesis relevant to the specialty

Responsibilities

• Consult within the specialty of Nuclear Medicine, including reporting and advising on imaging.
• Help lead and shape the Trust's nuclear medicine services.
• Engage in Registrar training (9 trainees rotate through the department every six months).
• Keep up-to-date clinically via attendance at courses and conferences; teach Radiology Registrars.
• Show willingness to engage in the running of the department by taking on management and leadership positions.
• Research and development is encouraged and supported.
