Job summary

EDF Energy is seeking a Layout Engineer to contribute to the design and delivery of the nuclear island for Hinkley Point C and Sizewell C. The role involves integrating mechanical, electrical, and safety requirements into plant layouts within a collaborative engineering team.

The position offers a starting salary and a hybrid work pattern: three days in the Bristol office and two days remote. Security vetting and UK residency criteria apply, with opportunities to develop nuclear engineering

Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical, piping, HVAC or safety engineering disciplines.
• Understanding of nuclear safety requirements in design and operation.
• Ability to review information and assess impacts across disciplines.
• Ability to work with multiple stakeholders to resolve engineering challenges.

Responsibilities

• Developing and improving plant layouts through integration of mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Reviewing inputs and ensuring consistency between technical docs and 3D models.
• Coordinating routing of pipes, HVAC systems and cable trays in complex designs.
• Producing technical reports, impact assessments and engineering justification documents.
• Managing layout changes and coordinating reviews across disciplines.
