Job summary

ALTEN Group in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced Construction Planner to support planning, scheduling, programme controls and contract management for major nuclear infrastructure projects.

You will develop integrated schedules with Primavera P6, manage baselines, monitor performance, and lead EVM reporting while coordinating with project teams to ensure governance and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience as a Planner or similar role.
• Strong Primavera P6 experience.
• Experience in Nuclear/Defence/Energy sectors.
• Experience with schedule baselines and programme controls.
• Knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM).
• Experience with change management and variations.
• Ability to perform schedule analysis and critical path assessments.
• Experience producing management information and executive reports.
• Strong stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain integrated project schedules using Primavera P6.
• Establish and maintain baselines throughout the project lifecycle.
• Monitor project performance against baselines.
• Perform EVM analysis and reporting.
• Track schedule and cost performance metrics.
• Support management of compensation events and NEC-based changes.
• Analyse critical paths, float, and risks.
• Produce dashboards, KPIs, and executive reports.
• Manage resource loading, forecasting, and capacity planning.
• Collaborate with engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning teams.
• Support risk reviews and recovery schedules.
• Ensure governance aligns with nuclear quality/regulatory requirements.
