Job summary

Carrington West is seeking an Assistant Project Manager - Commissioning for a landmark nuclear infrastructure programme based in Bristol. You will support the Project Manager and delivery teams to drive commissioning activities on a flagship power station project.

You'll gain exposure to regulated environments, governance, risk management, and stakeholder engagement while developing core project delivery skills for a long-term career in the sector.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the Project Manager with day-to-day project delivery activities.
• Assisting in the safe, efficient, and timely delivery of commissioning programmes.
• Managing smaller projects and work packages from inception through to completion.
• Helping define project scope, objectives, and interfaces with other programme teams.
• Preparing and maintaining project documentation, plans, and governance records.
• Supporting the development and implementation of project execution strategies.
• Monitoring programme progress against key milestones, budgets, and schedules.
• Producing project reports and updates for key stakeholders.
• Identifying and managing risks, issues, and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.
• Coordinating and facilitating project meetings and progress reviews.
• Reviewing technical documentation, contractor submissions, and drawings.
• Ensuring compliance with contractual, safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
• Building strong working relationships with internal teams, contractors, and client stakeholders.
