Amentum is hiring a Chemistry Laboratory Technician based in Birchwood, Warrington. You will support laboratory activities in the nuclear sector, including sample prep, analysis, and equipment upkeep, while maintaining safety and quality standards.

The role requires GCSEs and A Level Chemistry, strong practical skills and teamwork. You will work in a multi-disciplinary environment with emphasis on accuracy, documentation, and compliance with EHS and COSHH requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum five GCSEs at Grade C or above (including maths and English)
• A Level Chemistry at Grade C or above (or equivalent)
• Practical lab skills and interest in nuclear industry

Responsabilités

• Undertake routine sample preparation and lab activities per approved methods
• Operate laboratory equipment following training and authorization
• Prepare chemicals, reagents, standards and materials
• Carry out routine checks, calibrations and basic maintenance of lab equipment
• Record lab activities, results and quality documentation
• Support analysts and technical staff with client and project work
• Manage samples including receipt, storage and disposal
• Maintain lab stocks of chemicals and consumables
• Ensure high standards of housekeeping and safety compliance
• Identify issues and escalate to appropriate personnel
• Support continuous improvement of lab processes
• Collaborate with other lab personnel to meet priorities and timelines
