Job description

Technical Engineering Support (TES) is an engineering firm established over 30 years ago, specializing in test coordination and industrial commissioning. TES also assists its clients with their participation in design studies and the coordination of industrial equipment assembly.

As part of our activities, we have a position available for a NSSS Piping Installation Supervisor (f/m) for the Hinkley-Point EPR project in the UK.

Being part of the NSSS organisation, the main objective of the role is to supervise the NSSS piping installation on field. The main purpose is to ensure the productivity of the NSSS piping activities, by fulfilling the Health and Safety expectations, by respecting the quality and technical requirement, by following up the progress on site, by coordinating the site activities with other contractors (room availability, equipment installation, NDT progress, interfaces with EM02 / BNI), by checking the implementation of the site request (NCR/FCR/RFI).

Principal Responsibilities:

  1. Manages the safety of his activities in line with the CDM Regulations.

    • First contact in safety matter on site with authority over Contractor to stop work.

    • Participates in the weekly safety tour, for example.

  2. Enforces the installation requirement on site with authority over Contractor.

    • Daily authority for maintaining preservation and cleanliness.

    • Escalates the issue from other contractors (opening, grating, clash with MEH).

    • Leads the transfer of room (TAC).

    • Alerts the Piping Project Manager in case of drift.

  3. Ensures interfaces within NNB, mainly with MEHA and the access/scaffolding, and manages contingencies, notably through participation in the daily coordination meeting with the Contractor Superintendent.

  4. Monitors the conformity of work progress on site (excluding documentation) with the 4 Weeks Look Ahead Time-Schedule, focusing on critical activities according to the decided formalism.

    • Controls work progress and ensures the clearance of site blockage points under NNB's responsibility.

    • Specifically responsible for implementing permit to work (fire, height…) based on CDM regulations according to planning needs upon Contractor request.

    • Reports progress to his Project Manager and Site Lead Supervisor according to the decided formalism.

  5. Checks the implementation of the Open Points (NCR, FCR, RFI).

  6. Implements the supervision programme for piping activities.

  7. Validates on site at the end of installation by conducting random checking activities.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Proven experience working in an equivalent/related role in the construction industry (minimum 10 years of experience).

  • Meticulous and rigorous approach to field supervision to achieve high professional standards.

  • Excellent oral communication skills to ensure smooth connection between relevant stakeholders.

  • Strong people leadership skills to coordinate efficient delivery of Construction Team (HK4102) and ensure quick and efficient review of installation documentation.

  • Ability to work autonomously but with awareness of own limitations.

Desirable Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience:

  • Degree in Welding / Mechanical bachelor.

  • Detailed understanding of PWR design and construction.

  • Good knowledge of CDM Regulations.
