Job summary

Ncounter Technology Recruitment is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to work on a complex UK policing technology programme. The role focuses on building secure applications and services that manage large volumes of data across secure environments.

The position requires active NPPV3 clearance, hands-on development and delivery within policing contexts, with opportunities to work across cloud native stacks, containers, and modern DevOps practices.

Qualifications

• Strong Java and/or Python development skills
• Previous experience across UK policing data and technology programmes
• AWS and cloud application development
• OpenShift, Kubernetes or similar container platforms
• Apache technologies, ideally Apache NiFi
• Building secure applications that process, integrate or manage complex data
• CI/CD, DevOps and modern software engineering practices

Responsibilities

• Work on secure, scalable systems within a complex public sector environment
• Collaborate with technical and programme stakeholders across policing technology programmes
• Deliver high-quality software engineering outcomes in a NPPV3 cleared environment
