Job summary

Thales UK in Crawley is seeking an Industrialisation Engineer (NPI) to transform new products into scalable production programmes across defence, space and digital security. You will lead the industrialisation process from prototype to production readiness, develop facilities, tooling and processes, and run MRL assessments and PRRs.

A collaborative, proactive mindset with strong communication and stakeholder influence is essential to deliver results.

Qualifications

• Experience within NPI, manufacturing, industrial or production engineering environments.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing and production processes.
• Knowledge of Lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Experience managing projects, work packages or complex deliverables.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to influence stakeholders and build relationships across teams.
• Excellent communication and collaborative approach.
• Proactive mindset with passion for driving improvements.

Responsibilities

• Lead the industrialisation process from prototype through to production readiness.
• Develop and implement manufacturing facilities, tooling and processes.
• Drive Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) assessments and milestones.
• Host Production Readiness Reviews (PRRs) and coordinate actions across teams.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Production, Planning, Health & Safety and Project Management.
• Set up and maintain ERP, MES routes, BOMs and manufacturing routings.
• Support production-released products, resolving post-launch manufacturing challenges.
• Champion continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and InCIght.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, throughput and manufacturing performance.
• Contribute to development of best practice within the Industrial Engineering community.
