Job summary

ECM Selection (Holdings) Limited in Cambridge is seeking an experienced NPI Engineer to drive the transition of new product concepts to manufacturing. You will lead process improvements, design test strategies, create documentation, and manage prototype boards through evaluation and compliance checks.

The role requires hands-on electronics experience, PCB prototyping, and knowledge of EMC, thermal management, and design for manufacture. A UK work permit without sponsorship is required.

Qualifications

• 1st or 2.1 degree in electronics or closely related discipline.
• Experience prototyping PCBA and understanding EMC and thermal management.
• Experience bringing new electronic products to manufacturing (high speed or embedded preferred).
• Hands-on electronic engineering skills, problem solving, and proficiency with Gerbers and BOMs.
• Full, existing UK work permission without time limit or sponsorship.

This established Cambridge technology company is renowned for developing world-leading connectivity solutions for a wide range of applications. They are seeking an experienced NPI engineer to join and help them take these designs through to manufacture.

As an NPI Engineer, you would be key to ensuring that new product concepts transition smoothly through to manufacturing. This will involve you working closely with colleagues and manufacturing partners, taking the lead on improving processes and designing test strategies, creating documentation, and managing the build of prototype boards, their evaluation, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

• A 1st or 2.1 degree in electronics or closely related discipline
• Expertise with prototyping PCBAs and an understanding of subjects such as EMC and thermal management, quality standards, and design for manufacture, and obsolescence
• Prior experience of bringing new (preferably high speed or embedded) electronic products to manufacturing
• Practical hands-on electronic engineering skills, problems solving ability, and proficiency with Gerbers and BOMs
• Full, existing UK work permission without time limit or the need for sponsorship
